It's Launch Day

11/25/2015

Hey Lovies,

Picture
It is Launch day for my personal brand The Shaun Cox and I am so excited to share this day with each one of you amazing Inspired Wedding Planners.

This project came in the midst of planning a new venture that I shared with you 40 days ago using the hastag #30daylaunchchallenge.  This new concept of a "planning division" of A D.I.Y. Affair Weddings and Events was  brought to me by one of my Associate Wedding Coordinators. In the start of phase of planning and laying the foundation of who the target market would be for this new project I found myself lost and confused as to who the target market of this project would be. I stepped back and continued to focus on being me, running the day to day operations of A D.I.Y. Affair Weddings and Events and continuing my social media craze of posting , posting posting and engagement with you guys because that is what I truly have a passion for. The #30daylaunchchallenge did not go away what I was launching simply changed, and that is what we do in life right when the wind blows and it doesn't feel so good we go and reaccess the situation and start fresh right ? That is what you are experiencing right now with the launch of my personal brand The Shaun Cox

Every since I started scoping there hasn't been a day that has gone by that a fellow Inspired Wedding Planner hasn't reached out to me to send a thanks for me being me or simply sharing her story. This really started to speak to me, so I decided to create a space where I can continue to connect with fellow Inspired Planners whether it is 1:00 am and everyone is sleep and you can come here to be inspired in a blog post , or whether you are revamping your business during engagement season and you feel like it is the perfect time to take on a self study course that you can complete in less than two hours to get you on the fast track. I may not know what your exact needs are but having a space that encourages enagement gives us the perfect platform to connect and continue to thrive in this online community that we have created and will allow me to hear your needs along the way.

Now here is the thing , I will not be creating an online Facebook group. For me personally I can sometimes get overwhelmed and distracted and hearing the noise of what everyone else has going on I find it can sometime be a distraction, so I do not have a desire to create a mass group. Also with that comes the responsibility of facilitating the group so that the goal and the mission thrives and well such a commitment keeps me from focusing on other areas I feel I need to prioritize. However, I have created the perfect spot here on The Shaun Cox with our Advice page , all you have to do is fill out the form and I will select one question to address on Persicope on Sundays for  Q & A Planner to Planner Sunday. Another bonus.............. I will be launcing a Mentoring and Mastermind group called
" Listen Girl" in January. This will be an intimate group of ladies that would like to take their commitment to workng on their business goal a bit more seriously and get focused. "Listen Girl" will be by application only and will be limited to 10 or fewer ladies. The sessions will run in 6 months cycles which gives me the opportunity to connect and work with up to 20 Inspired Wedding Planners each year! " Listen Girl " is an investment based mentoring- mastermind program. Why the cost ? It raises the accountability factor for me , to drive you as your mentor and it increases the accountability for you to put in actionable steps !

How Far Is Your Reach : Wedding Planners

11/17/2015

Hey Lovies,

So today, I did a short little morning Scope over on Periscope @TheShaunCox , where I shared an experience that I encountered just this morning. You can catch the replay on Katch. me. Click Here to watch now.   I wanted to take that conversation a bit further and give you three tips that you can begin applying today to level up in your own Wedding Planning Business, as each of us need to be aware of our reach in every single encounter and touch that we make each day.  Enjoy !
Picture
1. Always Be On ,  Be Careful when you are Off

As a wedding planner or coordinator we are our brand and if we have invested in our company well enough everyone around you will know about your business and what you do, however what about those that do not know what you do ? In the market place, in the hair salon, at a social function with a night out with the girls, be prepared to touch someone  by casually being able to offer advice or input when the opportunity presents itself. You do not always have to be in your studio , local coffee shop or favorite venue to take an opportunity to touch someone and expand your reach. Step out of your comfort zone and speak up !.

2. Education is Key

What are you hording your expertise for ? The paycheck , the close, the big payoff? What if it never comes because you had the attitude that " they aren't my client yet" ? Honey when you have the privilege of having a targeted couple to meet with you to discuss their wedding plans you look at that as a prime opportunity to showcase your expertise and knowledge. Give just enough that they can't imagine their wedding day with out you. You can learn more about how we use this philosophy day in and day out with our 90-10 % Consultation Model

3. Genuinely Show Interest in Others

Networking isn't about what someone can do for you but what do you have to offer someone else. People do not like to be sold something, and wedding professionals particularly do not care to be sold or solicited to about your company and your offerings, if they have no trust or investment in you. Give people a genuine reason to be invested in you, by choosing to invest into them first. Networking is marketing, when was the last time you saw a big bill board on the interstate going for FREE..... think about it, you have to pay to play . What have you paid?

I hope that you have find these tips to be inspiring , so much so that you take what applies to you, and apply it in your own business so that you can level up.

Quick Blog Tips For Wedding Planner + CoordinatorsWho Hate Blogging

11/15/2015

Hey Lovies,

So you hate blogging right? You struggle with content , what to say, how much is to much, how much is not enough, and all that jazz, right? Look I promise you it is really not that hard. It only takes a little dedication and some good old consistency to where blogging can not only position you as an expert but also get you found on the almighty Google Search engine, I am talking pages 1-3 not 20 hear lovies. So get your pen and paper and jot down these three steps to be on your way.

1. Apply a rule of 75 % visual and 25 % content. I once hated blogging too until I discovered the online world is driven by pretty thing and king content. Meaning you can captivate your audience by incorporating gorgeous photos and giving them 25 % of meaningful hard fast nuggets of content that they can apply right away. Don't give away everything but just enough to keep those potential brides longing for more.

2. Be consistent . Make a commitment to blog . That commitment will be different for each of us but the more you do it the greater impact you will see on your Google ranking . I would commit no less than 2-3 times per month and make it easy on yourself. Get a calendar and plan your topics ahead of time. Local venue/vendor spotlight, interviews and tips and tricks makes for great reads.

3.Don't forget your keywords. Be sure you are going in your back end of your site and listing the same keywords you used naturally throughout your site such as wedding , wedding planning, wedding coordinator , wedding venue, you get where I am going  ? It is not enough just to put it in the content you have to duplicate those keywords in the back in of your website for optimal placement in ranking.

I hope these three tips helped to get you on the fast track comment below and share your blog so that I can swing by and show you some love.
